Uncork the scotch and make yourself a branded instant soup as we have exciting news: the second half of series three is on the way and we're teaming up with Definitely Human Productions to make it happen.

Definitely Human have been producing podcasts since 2014, first with The Bunker, a fictional breakfast radio show set in the post-apocalypse; then with Mars based sitcom MarsCorp, the first episode of which was picked by Wired as one of their podcasts of the week. They currently produce the role playing game horror series The Infinite Bad, so The Monster Hunters should be in perfect company. It feels like the perfect fit.’ says Matthew, who co-writes and plays Roy Steel. ‘I’ve had the pleasure of working on MarsCorp and other projects with them for the last four years and I think they’re the right people to be looking after Roy and Lorrimer. I’m really pleased to have the chance to bring the story we’ve been building up to over the last few episodes to its exciting and gruesome conclusion!’

In addition to brand new episodes there’ll be a chance to catch up with the story so far as The Monster Hunters’ back catalogue will also be available. There’s a full 24 episodes to enjoy, comprising the first two series', the first half of series 3 and a number of special Christmas and Halloween episodes. But there’s still something there for long term listeners as each episode will include bonus content going behind the scenes to explore the genesis of the Monster Hunters so whether you’re a new listener or old, you’re in for a fang-tastic time.

Finally! Episode three of the third series of The Monster Hunters is available for you to download into your ears.

Firstly, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you out there. I hope you are celebrating with a Brandscotchka and a Turkey flavoured branded instant soup. Secondly, please accept our heartfelt apologies for keeping you waiting so long to hear just how Roy and Lorrimer got by up there on that mountain. A combination of a ridiculous number of factors including an epic house move, children, work and a computer going for a burton has made this quite a difficult year here at Newgate Towers. We were worried that we'd lost our masters at one terrifying point but thankfully all was not lost and the amazing Peter Davis has worked day and night to put it all together in time for the end of the Christmas holiday. We're fantastically grateful to all of you out there for sticking with us and keeping the flame alive. Our New Year's resolution: to bring you some more new adventures and hopefully we will have some exciting news to share with you about the future of the Monster Hunters soon.

The story so far: Our intrepid heroes are stuck on top of Mount Everest as a mysterious doorway opens in front of them. Exactly what is behind it? Who can say? All will become clear when you listen to Queen of the Yeti Men!

Grab your climbing gear and prepare for your next great adventure - reaching the summit of the brand new episode of The Monster Hunters!

We apologise that it's taken a little longer than planned to get this episode to you, but we hope you think it's worth the wait. We've scaled new heights to bring you an adventure a little out of the ordinary - one that takes our heroes to the Roof of the World!

"The majority of the episode is set on Mount Everest," says Peter Davis. "It's one of the most dangerous places on earth and people go there every year as a challenge or just for fun. I've been obsessed by Everest for many years and the idea of a natural feature as an antagonist to our heroes was too good to pass up."

"Peter did his homework on this one. The challenges we endure in the story are all things you would actually face scaling that mountain." says Matthew Woodcock. 'Recording it was quite taxing as well. There were a few occaisions when we were actually out of breath!"

"There's also a not-so-subtle homage to the movie An American Werewolf in London in the episode." Davis continues. "It's one of my all time favourite movies, and in my opinion the best example of comedy horror in film - genuinely funny and genuinely scary. We recorded this the film's 35th anniversary year, so why not pay tribute to it in The Monster Hunters?"

We're also pleased to have on board David Knight, who podcast listeners will have heard as 'David Knight' in MarsCorp and as 'David' in The Bunker, two fine podcasts from Definitely Human. What will be his name and what links him to the Monster Hunters? You can find out more about MarsCorp here.

This is also the first part of an epic two part story. Return here soon for part three, we'd tell you the title but it would ruin the surprise!
